Spain — 2018
In the Spring of 2018, Frank and Norene (Clarke), Carl (Smith) and Cheryl (Riley), and Cathy and Joe (Mallozzi) went on a Spanish vacation. Cathy and Joe flew into Barcelona where they met the other four who had cruised with Holland-America across the Atlantic aboard the Oosterdam. Later, Carl's and Cheryl's best man, John May, stayed with us in Madrid.
The cruise itinerary had us departing Ft.Lauderdale's cruise port April 3rd. There followed 8 days at sea where the only thing visible was sky from horizon to horizon. We made a port call at Funchal, Madeira on the 12th, then another 'sea day' before putting in at Lisbon, Portugal on the 14th, Huelva (Seville), Spain on the 15th, Malaga on the 16th, Cartagena on the 17th, and debarking in Barcelona on the 18th where we met Joe and Cathy who had arrived by air.
The six of us then toured Barcelona together for a few days before moving our headquarters to Madrid where John May joined us. Halfway through, Joe and Cathy flew home, leaving us a party of five.
