In the choir area, there are many carved wooden scenes of Biblical events.  In years past, pictures such as these nearly always required flash (and would always garner a reprimand from the lurking docents) because they were covered in centuries of candle soot.  No more.  The grime is gone, and they look like they're new.  More?  Click here

The walls are no longer a sort of wooden brown.  Without the layer of soot that has seemingly always been there, the beauty of the stone bursts forth.  It's 1250 AD again.
