Champs Elysées

After wearing ourselves out at the Louvre, we hustled over to Angelina's to try out their unbelievably-and-indescribably rich hot chocolate.  Try to imagine this:  it is served from a pitcher, and when poured into a cup it 'plops' because it is only semi-liquid.  Each pitcher comes with a large bowl of whipped cream.  Stir some into your hot chocolate to sweeten it and let it flow more easily.

Heaven in a cup.

We shop for souvenirs along Rue de Rivoli then dash back to the apartment to drop off our purchases before heading over to the Arc de Triomphe.

From the top of the Arc, Paris stretches away in twelve directions, the spokes of the wheel centered on l'Etoille (the Star).  It is here just shy of 9pm on September 10th.  It is full-dark and Paris is lit up for the evening.  The Champs Elysées points east to Place de la Concorde and the Louvre.
