I don't know how the topic came up, but we got into a discussion of 'slivovic' (sliv-o-vitz), a traditional Czech (and Slovak and Hungarian and ...) drink which is best described as 'plum brandy on steroids'. In appearance, it's clear, like white lightning.
After one of our walks, Kateřina led us into a quiet park, seated us, cracked open a bottle of Slivovic, and proceeded to pour samples. Then we had some chocolate to soothe our aching tongues.
Interesting stuff, that slivovic.
