Karluv Most (Charles Bridge) is the main pedestrian crossing between Mala Strana (the Lesser Town) and the Staré Město (the Old Town). We spent 10 days in Prague and crossed this bridge (round trip) at least 16 times. The river is about 500m wide at this point. By day, dozens of vendors set up shop along the walls. You can get your portrait done in pencil, buy a flute, watch a puppet show, listen to ragtime or a violin sonata, or pick up a few souvenirs for the folks back home.

By night, it's the romantic center of the universe with the Vltava (Moldau) rushing along beneath you and surrounded by 15th century buildings lit up to show their very best faces. |
