The Great Market of Budapest is like a giant flea market.  Meats and vegetables, fast food and not-so-fast food, trinkets, pottery, linens and fabrics, housewares, and many other things, all are hawked here on two levels in a building which occupies an entire city block.

One of our guides, Sofie (pronounced zho-fee), spoke to us of the Soviet era when people would line up to buy bananas.  Now?  298HUF per kilo (65 cents per pound); how much do you want?
