Bridges of all types cross the Seine which splits Paris into North and South. From the Pont Solferino you can get an idea of how expansive is the M'O and what a bustling place it must have been when it was a railway station. The two large circles beneath the cupolas are the clocks of the Gare d'Orsay. They are probably five or six meters in diameter. In the foreground on the water are two tour boats (Vedettes de Pont Neuf ?) which take tourists to see the various sights along the river and the exquisite architecture that covers Paris edge-to-edge. |
