We found our Bergen lodgings through a mention in Rick Steves' Scandinavia tour book: the Dahl house, Trangesmauet 14. It was moderately difficult to find even with explicit directions and everything in Bergen is uphill from wherever you are, but it turned out to be convenient, comfortable, inexpensive, and populated by nice people, both proprietors and guests. As you can see, the streets are paved in cobblestone and are all pretty steep. When these streets get wet (or worse, snowy) a misstep can add an extra element of adventure to your 'trip'. |
