The 9:20 from Vienna got us into Salzburg just after noon and we quickly found our hotel, checked in, and arranged for a tour of the salt mines near Berchtesgaden.  The salt mine was pretty dark and not a good place for photographs, but the tour made a stop at Berchtesgaden (for shopping, naturally) on the way back to Salzburg.

Berchtesgaden, you may recall, was one of Hitler's favorite vacation spots and it continues to draw visitors because of its picturesque beauty.
