The Main Altar at Rouen from the Lady Chapel

When I talked about "long vistas" this is what I had in mind.  The cathedral at Rouen is actually two churches joined like a train: the Lady Chapel (nearly as big as many churches you've been in) is behind the main altar.  It is behind me as I take this picture.  The rose window is nearly 200ft away.  And look at the height of the ceiling and how bright the interior!  This church is a masterpiece.  It takes your breath away because it seems to be made of lace and the mind refuses to believe what the eyes are reporting.
