That same afternoon we went to Sacre Coeur and climbed the 386 steps to the dome.  The gargoyle is just one I liked — there are more to come.

Did you know that gargoyles are functional?  They're "outspouts" rather than downspouts; they get water moving out and away from the walls of the building.

Down in the crypt of Sacre Coeur are many statues including a very nice pieta.  It was so dark, however, that the images were quite poor and they aren't included here.
